ДзенDzenYandex's content platform — blogs, articles, videos.
💡 Cultural Insight: Russia has developed its own parallel digital ecosystem. Яндекс (Yandex) is often called "Russia's Google" but it's much more — it offers search, email, maps, taxi service (Яндекс Такси), food delivery (Яндекс Еда), music streaming, cloud storage, and even self-driving car research. ВКонтакте (VK) dominates social networking with built-in music streaming that made it enormously popular among young Russians.

💬 Internet Slang & Abbreviations

SlangFull Form / MeaningEnglish Equivalent
спсспасибоthx (thanks)
пжл / пожпожалуйстаpls (please)
нзчне за чтоnp (no problem)
лолlaugh out loudlol
ксткстатиbtw (by the way)

ладно / ланok / alright
)) or )))smile:) — more )'s = bigger smile

💡 The ))) Phenomenon

Russians use closing parentheses instead of smiley faces in text messages: ) = :) , ))) = 😄, ))))) = 🤣

A single ( means sadness. Messages without any parentheses can seem cold or formal to Russian readers! Not adding a ) when texting a friend might signal that you're upset.
